Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) launched a new graphics card called the Radeon HD 7970. Performance of Radeon HD 7970 claimed 30% faster than AMD first product, the Radeon HD 6970.
Radeon HD 7970 using the 2048 Stream Processors, 32 ROP Units, and 128 Texture Units. The chip used was the Tahitian XT GPU with 28nm TSMC fabrication. HD 7970 has also been Equipped with a PCL Express 3.0, a 3GB GDDR5 memory, 38-bit memory bandwidth and speed of 5Gbps.
The Great Clock of the Radeon HD 7970 GPU can reach 925 MHz. However, the GPU clock can be upgraded or overclocked performance up to 1GHz.
Radeon HD 7970 display connector comprises a connector DVI and HDMI, and two Mini-Display Port connectors. Radeon HD 7970 power consumption of less than 300 watts when it is in load position. If you are in idle position, only consume less than 3 watts.
In terms of appearance, the Radeon HD 7970 appears fierce with red and black color cast, AMD also makes a dual slot cooler with a fan type blower. Slot where the air out also made larger than the previous generation AMD VGA card. However, the Radeon HD 7970 is only available on the market in January 2012.
